(I know everyone wants to see pictures of the wedding, but those pictures are still on my witnesses’ cameras. What I do have, though, are pictures of our small Honeymoon Weekend in Niagara Fall.)
After having the smallest wedding ever recorded in the Church of the Ascension’s 100+ years of service, we hopped in a car and drove to Beautiful Niagara for the weekend. During the drive, while making phone calls to let people know we got married, we found out from Dave’s grandparents that his great grand parents also honeymooned in Niagara Falls. Then, while sitting in a Niagara Falls bar and watching the Yankees game on Friday night, we found out that the people sitting next to us were celebrating their 35th year anniversary. They, too, were married on a Friday the 18th of May and honeymooned in Niagara. Two serendipitous moment in one day.
The Canadian side of Niagara Falls is beautiful this time of year. The walkways along the water are lined with well groomed trees, bright tulips, and green grass. We even wandered through a rose garden that, unfortunately, wasn’t in bloom yet.

I snapped these first two pictures around 5:15a.m. after a fire alarm forced us to evacuate the hotel. (Clicking on a picture will open it up in a bigger window.) Square trees are all the rage in Canada. The fire alarm also gave Dave the opportunity to show off his magical ability to drink coffee, then immediately go back to sleep. The photo of the tulips was taken at a much more reasonable afternoon hour.
Since the Falls were literally right outside the door of our hotel, we took several “Standing in Front of the Falls” photos.

Then we took a small tour to the base of the Falls.
We were told that we could keep our highly fashionable ponchos in a flattering shade of yellow, but recycling them seemed like a better option.
My favorite picture, though, is this one of Dave with a stuffed toy moose.
(As of today, we have been married for one week.)
